Shoot the Breeze: Free Art Day at the Mann
Saturday, November 15 | 10 AM – 3 PM | Free Admission
Come “Shoot the Breeze” with us at the Mann Art Gallery! Inspired by artist Marcy Friesen’s current exhibition Shoot the Breeze, we’re hosting a free community art day full of creativity, conversation, and a touch of mischief.
What’s Happening: Visitors can drop in anytime between 10 AM and 3 PM to make art inspired by Marcy’s playful and thought-provoking works. You’ll have two creative paths to explore:
Fishy Creations: Dive into some fish-themed art inspired by Marcy’s “smoked fish” works.
Useless Art: Make something intentionally non-functional; a teacup covered in fur, a beaded glove on the inside, a single decorative shoe... the possibilities are endless! Bring a household item you’d like to transform into “useless” art, or use materials we have on hand.
This day is all about curiosity, humour, and creative freedom! Bring your friends, family, or just yourself, and spend some time making art for the joy of it.
Free admission, all materials provided (though bringing your own object for ‘useless art’ is encouraged!). We can’t wait to see what you come up with! Come make something gloriously impractical and wonderfully imaginative with us!
