Event Details:

Harmony Johnson-Harder will be artist-in-residence at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre with the project "Finding Our Common Stories." This cross-cultural, collaborative intiative brings together newcomer women and Indigenous women to connect, share their stories, and collaborate on visual art projects with Harmony.

The residency runs from May 27th to June 14th, 2024. Harmony will be in residence from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The public are welcome to drop in and see Harmony's works-in-progress.

The residency involves a series of art workshops. We invite Indigenous and Newcomer women to share their stories on how they are shaping their lives and identities in Prince Albert.

In the workshops participants will be encouraged to contribute to a collaborative project using beads, embroidery, painting, quilting, and more, incorporating their respective cultural styles. Each workshop will include a sharing circle, thematic discussions, and opportunities for visiting.

Settlers and anyone who is open to sharing their stories and cultures are also welcome. Childen are welcome to attend under the supervision of their participating parents; child care is not provided.

There is no charge to participate.
