Event Details:

Visiting artist Mindy Yan Miller will provide an artist talk on Tuesday June 6^th at 7:00 PM at the Prince Albert Arts Centre (1010 Central Avenue). In this talk Mindy will share her roots in art, how it has been shaped by place, and the details of her process and ideas.

This artist talk is part of a pilot artist residency project this summer, supported by the Prince Albert Council for the Arts in partnership with the City of Prince Albert.

The goals of the pilot residency are to determine how:
• Artists can be supported in the research, exploration, and creation of work;
• Local artists and communities can be provided with inspiration, new perspectives, and learning opportunities from artists-in-residence;
• The Prince Albert Arts Centre can grow as a place of artistic creativity, honouring its history as a site for artists to gather, exchange ideas, and be supported through residencies.

The results of the pilot will help determine how a regular artist residency program unfolds at the Arts Centre in the future.

There is no charge to attend any of the pilot residency events.

About Mindy:

Mindy works in installation, sculpture, and performance using hides, clothing, human hair, and more. She has an MFA from NSCAD (Halifax) and spends her time between SK and Montreal, where she teaches fibres and material practices at Concordia University. Visit her website at https://mindyyanmiller.com.
