Join us for the closing reception of JingLu Zhao's Ray of Light exhibition at the J.V. Hicks Gallery on Saturday, April 22 from 2PM – 4PM. 

Ray of Light examines the identity of JingLu Zhao's family as they explore the world. Zhao creates acrylic and oil paintings, combining figuration

and landscapes reflecting her children's Chinese and First Nations heritage.

About the Artist

JingLu Zhao received her MFA in Japan, and taught Visual Art at Chengdu University (China) until she moved to Canada in 2013. It is here where she shifted her focus to raising her three young children. The experience and feelings of raising a family with cross-cultural communication is one of the central themes of JingLu's work.
